I wrote to my local DV centre and uploaded screenshots of messages from my partner to see if they can confirm coercive control is happening as I'm trying to understand my position on childcare/ custody. They said based on the limited information provided, there are elements that could be considered coercive control, but they need much more context to understand the situations around those messages fully. They said they will allocate my case to an Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocate (IDSVA).

Does anyone know what this means and what happens next... I feel a bit freaked out by it all and not sure whether to go forward..

Thankyou in advance..

It means someone will talk to you to find out more about your situation, and offer you advice. It’s a good thing - it’s someone to support you.

IDSVAs are great, my friend has one supporting her currently 🙂
