Bounced up to say hello, looked directly into my eyes and then started blushing.

Close runners up are;

Picking me up for a event after a few weeks' dating where I was stressing about having to wear something formal and doing makeup, etc - when I opened the door, he did the jaw dropping thing, followed immediately by a huge grin and 'oh, my God, you look amazing!'.

Overheard having a conversation with the cat. The cat was replying, making it obvious that they had regular chats when I was still asleep.

bombastix · 20/11/2025 20:55

Another cat one - petting the cat and giving it some cream

Rolling up his sleeves

DriveVerySlowlyPastNumber23IWantThemToSeeMyHat · 20/11/2025 20:57

I don't know why but a rolled up shirt sleeve when driving is just 😍

Holding baby DD's head in one hand. With the rest of her draped down his arm.

clinellwipe · 20/11/2025 21:01

when he spontaneously decided to make a second Christmas dinner for us on Boxing Day because we had enough food in the house so he thought why not. I’m a greedy cow and his cooking is the best

Sparklybutold · 20/11/2025 21:02

any labour intensive work
The way he walks (especially when dirty/sweaty from work)
when he was younger - cap backwards now he wears a Tilley/cowboy hat - also looks very nice
the way he sometimes initiates sex - just assured and intense, VERY focused on me
the way he wraps his big arms around me when I snuggle into his chest
his beard
relaxed and playful with children, esp when babies
when he strides into meet me wearing his motorcycle gear, esp if we’re out - I see other women notice 😁

Getting a vasectomy

  1. When our son was a baby he was cradling him to sleep in his muscular arms and exclaimed out loud "I am SO in love with him!"
  2. When he insisted he never wanted a dog and now he tucks her into her bed every night without fail
ChaChaChaChanges · 20/11/2025 21:04

The way he smiles when he wakes up and sees me lying next to him. His hair all mussed up and his eyes very slightly unfocused, and he still (more than 10 years on) looks sleepily delighted that I’m there.

Mrsnothingthanks · 20/11/2025 21:04

Not be afraid to show his emotions. I knew he was The One when his cat was killed in an RTA and he cried in front of me ❤️
When he helped deliver our baby (planned home birth).

Listening

Being gentle with the pets that he says he's not attached to

WalterMittysPuppet · 20/11/2025 21:05

In the beginning? Reversing a tractor and trailer, one handed, extremely quickly and accurately with large tanned forearms.

Recently? Laying on the floor gently and carefully rubbing Anthisan into the paw of one of our dogs, the one he regularly declares he hates, who was crying because he'd been stung by a wasp.

NormasArse · 20/11/2025 21:06

Welcoming every waif and stray I bring home, and loving them until the end.

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 20/11/2025 21:06

Stopping a taxi to pick up a baby deer that had been hit by a car and was lying beside the road, wrapping it in his jumper and diverting 20 miles to the nearest vet.

ChaChaChaChanges · 20/11/2025 21:08

There are some LOVELY people out there!

lilybit2025 · 20/11/2025 21:10

The way he is with our dog. Loves her to absolute bits, speaks to her like a child and is so loving. I know he will be a fantastic dad.

Nine2five · 20/11/2025 21:18

When he marched into headmistress office to demand action after my dd was attacked at school by her bully. We had only been dating for a few weeks.

I'm struggling here. Grin

Seawolves · 20/11/2025 21:33

The way he was with our foster babies, his gentleness and the patience he had with them.

Mydogsnicerthanyourdog · 20/11/2025 21:35

Leave the house with all his possessions. 👍
