I sympathise with you OP.

The downright nastiness displayed by more and more posters is truly depressing.

As is the gratuitous use of swearing and the bullying and intolerance of anyone who dares to express a different point of view from the pack.

Thank goodness for the small group of helpful and reasonable posters who actually make staying on the site worthwhile.

I think the responses you've got on this thread say it all OP.

Tbh people are just being sarcastic because they don’t know who on earth the person is. MN has millions of users so what’s the point of one of them saying a dramatic ‘goodbye’ yet changing their username so they remain anonymous?! Unless of course they expect to be recognised for having a ‘beautiful life’ 🙄.

I’m sure hundreds of users leave MN for long periods for whatever reason but it would get rather tedious lol if every one of them created an anonymous post to say they’re currently feeling peeved so leaving! Just pointless!

I thought the whole point of MN was to be interested in what all posters have to say? Even if you don't agree with them.

Having said that the view point you express here certainly fits in with the cliquishness obvious on many of threads.
