I may be being too sensitive

My fiancé and I decided to buy costumes for Halloween… or at least I thought so. We have a 2 year old and last year only our son dressed up. He purchased his costume and I purchased ours. Today our things arrived and when I showed him what I had. It was just a witch costume he said( I thought as an”adult” you wound have just got a mask and not a whole costume) I’m 25 and he’s 30 btw. Do you dress up with your LO? I’m thinking of returning my costume or giving it away.

I have no idea what the problem is but yes, you do appear to be too sensitive.

I don’t dress up with my LO but it’s not unheard of. Just do what you’re comfortable with.

It’s just a bit if fun. Dress up and have a laugh. He sounds a bit boring.

twobabiesandapup · 26/09/2025 21:37

Just go for it! If you were looking forward to doing it there’s no reason why not - it’s just harmless fun and he can be the party pooper 😂

I don’t personally dress up but I will be dressing my two little ones and the dog in matching pumpkin outfits if that makes you feel any better!

I dressed up last year with my 6 year old granddaughter. It was fun 🤷‍♀️

I’ve always dressed up for Halloween. His comment would annoy me too. A bit arrogant if he thinks he knows better than you. KEEP THE COSTUME.

FetchezLaVache · 26/09/2025 23:28

I absolutely LOVED dressing up for Hallowe'en, before DS was old enough to be embarrassed by me! Enjoy it while you can and never mind Grumpy Drawers.

Errrm yes, massively oversensitive.

And as an adult, you'll both know that some adults will just wear a mask, some will dress up and some will do both or none of those things 🤷‍♀️
