Help - does my bv prove a cheating husband?

I’ve been with DH for years and two years ago developed Bacterial vaginosis right after sex. We ended up not having sex for a year (other reasons) but then got bv as soon as we did it again. I went down a rabbit hole reading about how men have been found to pass it to women and ended up on the Melbourne sexual health website where they basically say you only get it from a man who’s carrying it. In that case how can I get it halfway through my relationship unless he’s played away? Can someone put my mind at rest cos I can’t imagine he ever would and I’m just lost cos previously I was told by docs it’s nothing to do with sex even tho it seems to trigger it for me
