Sorry I can't remember her Mumsnet name. I hope everything turned out well for her. She was a great writer and described her situation so humorously and vividly. The ex husband started the affair under the noses of everyone in her local social circle a few months before the Mumsnetter found out about it & dickhead husband then grudgingly moved out to live with Budgie Woman (her nickname for her) and work as unpaid chauffeur and general dogsbody in his retiring years. Her story would make a great tv series.

Her writing was memorable - sad and humorous by turns and her attitude to her situation was so admirable. Just loved her story and have often wondered since how she was doing. That's all. She sure did! It was priceless and great to read. I was wanting her to write a book, look for a director and hold auditions for all the characters in her real life story. No disrespect intended. There was a lot of heart in her writing.

I often think of @gingerloaf and hope she's doing well. She gave me such hope for my own future.

Thank you for asking! Things are... different. Everything came out in the open last year and we have had hours and hours of honest and very difficult conversations. My husband has taken full responsibility for his actions, is being completely transparent, we are seeing a counsellor, and he is doing all the work without me instigating anything. In that aspect things couldn't be better really. I don't know what it means for the future, because I don't look at him the same way that I used to. I doubt I will ever have complete trust in him again and I don't think I can live like that long term.

I would love to hear what @gingerloaf is up to, she has been such an inspiration to me.

@YorkshireTeaDance so your suspicions were sadly correct., sounds like you have been through a lot and coming out of the other end. I get what you are saying about not being able to live long term without trust . I think sometimes you can look at him and forget and other times remember and think how and why did he do this to me and us? Thank you for sharing, you didn’t have to x
