Reconciling with an ex

After thoughts / opinions / experiences please.

Me and my ex split up 17 years ago, we were together for 5 years. He was 24 and I was 19 when we started dating, so quite young.

The relationship ended as he cheated with a girl he worked with, he didn’t end things with me in the nicest way and never apologised but has spoken to friends and said he wished he had spoken to me. I was quite jealous and insecure in the relationship as it was my first time dating someone.

We are now speaking on a friendship level but I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten back with an ex in this sort of situation, and if they have how did it go?

I have always thought that me and my ex would still be together now if we had met each other later in life and wasn’t so young.

Any advice welcome 🤗

Well I'd be expecting an apology first, and not through his friends!

Don’t think it’s his age just a nasty person, I couldn’t forgive this no matter how long it’s been.
