When you bump into your ex

I bumped into my ex last weekend in a shopping centre, I was sitting having a coffee. I hadn't seen him since we broke up a few years ago. He hurt me a lot when things ended. I swore I would never speak to him again.

However, he approached me and we chatted - it was pleasant and fine, but I didn't go overboard in terms of friendliness.

It's strange this thing of bumping into an ex, though, the way it makes you feel, even though you're long over them and would never go back there.

Cam anyone else relate?

Yes! So glad you kept it cool and didn’t go overboard. Bumping into an ex can stir some feelings and memories. I find that the fall is a time I’m more prone to nostalgia and thinking back to past relationships. Not in a good way, not in a bad way, just reflecting from a distance.

My ex was stacking shelves in Aldi 9 years after we split. He led a double life and gaslit me for 9 months making me feel like I was going mad.

He came up to me and looked so happy to see me (we had an amazing 12 years together before he cheated). He said he couldn't watch me go past and not say hello. He asked me if I was ok. Previously, I promised he'd never her my voice again. It was also the 1 year anniversary of the tragic passing of my dad, which he would have known nothing about. I looked at him and kept on shopping. I walked straight past him. He looked haggard. I looked great. He was crest fallen.

I have no regrets, he pushed me to my limit. I nearly didnt make it through what he did to me.
