Dating when moving away

Hello - I am a but confused at the moment.
I am currently based in Liverpool but will be moving to London in summer 2026 for work.

I am currently single and have been since February, after an 18 month, fairly low key relationship.

I do like being in a relationship and I theoretically feel ready, but kind of don't see the point in dating when I'm only here for the next 10 months. I wouldn't want a long distance relationship.

Trying to decide what to do! Put myself out there, or just be patient. I mean, if I met someone it would be quite a lot to ask them to date me exclusively (if it got to that stage) knowing I'll be leaving. Plus it could end up being quite sad to say goodbye.

I don't really like the thought of casually dating to be honest though.

I think sensibly I should just wait until I'm settled in my new location maybe.
Any advice or anyone been in this situation?

Wait until you move. Which part of London? Exciting! X

I agree, wait until you move.
Spend time with family or friends before you move down to London. Don’t commit to anything; there will be lots to do before you move, so your mind won't be focused on relationships.
You may meet someone there if you are planning to live there long-term.
All the best. x

My old flatmate did the opposite, and she set her location to up north a couple months before she moved to line up dates for when she went back. She is now married to her nice northern guy!
