Hi everyone, posted again as one of the users said it’s might be better to post in relationships forum.

I’m 29 and a single mum to three little ones. I split from my husband a few months ago and ended up sleeping with someone new months later. A few days after that I felt really unwell and noticed some spots, so I went to the clinic — they diagnosed me with genital herpes on the spot.
Feeling really overwhelmed and just a bit lost with it all right now. Just wondering if anyone else here is living with it and can offer a bit of hope or reassurance? Struggling to picture what life looks like going forward and feeling a bit rubbish if I’m honest 🥺
Let me know if you want to make it even more casual or change anything else.

I was also 29, newly single parent and waited for nearly a year before sleeping with someone new and caught genital herpes on that one occasion. I remember feeling exactly as you do now. 6 years later I have been in a new relationship for 4 years, have another child, my partner hasn’t caught it but equally one of his exes also had it and it really isn’t a big deal. I do take suppression treatment but that is my preference, I haven’t had any symptoms since 2021. It will be ok ♥️
