Matched with guy few years ago. Never met but exchanged a few innocuous messages.
fast forward a few years, he messages apparently by mistake. We end up meeting for a drink as we are local. We then meet for another few drinks and eat together a few times. Prob 5 meets in total. Nothing happens aside from chat and a hug goodbye.

Am I overthinking it to be wondering what’s the point? I’m not really looking for a male friend at this stage in life (40s). What’s best next step as don’t want to keep on with meet for a drink life etc? Ugh being single at this age sucks.

Maybe just ask what he’s looking for? He could just be shy and not experienced at dating and doesn’t know how to take it further or if you want that? Of course he could just like you as a friend but it’s quite a lot of times to just meet a new friend one on one!

It might be awkward if he says he’s not looking for a romantic connection but you say you don’t want another male friend anyway, so you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain!

Thanks! Yeah I have been thinking I do need to broach this… just wasn’t sure what the best plan was.
