Divorce - mediation certificate validation

Divorce rumbling on, I am completely lost and bewildered with it all..... but I have a particular query.
We 'need' to go for mediation for our finances.
My solicitor advises we do it soon for the 'validity of the mediation certificate'.
I understand it has 4 months. BUT is the 4 months the time in which it should have been done after I first applied for divorce OR is it from the date of the mediation?

I simply can't work it out.
I applied for divorce at the end of May, this year.

Ok so I don't know much about England divorce but I found this.

"Your MIAM certificate is valid for 4 months from the date it’s issued. This means you must submit your court application within this timeframe, or you’ll need to attend another MIAM and get a fresh certificate.
For example, if your certificate is dated 15th January 2025, you must file your court application by 15th May 2025."

"Despite its name, it’s not actually a separate certificate – it’s a specific page within your court application form that must be completed and signed by an accredited family mediator."

SO yes you need to do it soon.
