OS co-ordinates on DH car satnav

Was searching for a previously driven to address on car satnav and some random OS co-ordinates came up in previous destinations. all showed as off road in the country places.
is this as bad as I think it might be?

So you mean an Ordnance Survey grid reference, like NH 398 442 (which I just made up) and, if I've understood, you think he's gone to this remote place for an assignation with a woman?

@Howlongdoesittake , can you get the OS coordinates? Dogging spots are quite well known, or the internet will help you. I know of a couple near me, and it's not something I do (honestly!)

Most sat nav’s don’t use OS coordinates. And if they displayed a list of them how would you know where they are? Or are you saying you’ve clicked on them and they show locations…where? The middle of nowhere? People don’t go dogging half way up a mountain, they do it in an out of the waycar park or lay-by…so many questions

Oh dogging. Have a google of the area and dogging. The sites are well known.

Your sat nav takes OS coordinates?

The satnav in my car (which uses Gooogle) sometimes shows random OS grid references. Nobody else uses it and I'd love to be able to delete them. Hopefully its nothing to worry about, OP.

My DH sometimes does this, with him it's fishing lakes. Could it be something like that?

Take picture of the coordinates and share with us and we can properly advise.

My Google maps has displayed os coordinates a few times recently. No idea why.

It happened on Tuesday travelling to work - definitely no dogging.

I bet it's a dogging site. Or one of those points were married men meet up to have sex with other men.

Could he just be going for a walk? And copied over the coordinates to find the car park.

That said, if I drop a pin in google maps (instead of putting in the address), it maps to the coordinates. Has he not just used a dropped pin? Doesn’t even mean he’s actually travelled there. I accidentally drop pins all over when zooming and searching for things on the map. That’s surely the most obvious explanation.

Mine also goes to fishing lakes, or sometimes stargazing, Has he got any of those sort of hobbies which would take to the countryside. Though DH does tell me if he pops off out.

Marriage is fine, just a bit taken aback. Will talk to him about it later when he finishes work.

I like the idea of old school map references for dogging activities, who needs what three words?

When I had a satnav (and only I used it because i was the only driver), it used to throw these up. So I'd scroll through the history for an old address and there would be couple of random OS co-ordinates in there (or, at least, I'm assuming now that's what they were based on this thread - I didn't question it at the time).

But I've never met up with a random man or been dogging. Well, not intentionally anyway...

Was it his car brand new? If you select home in my satnav it takes you to the other end of the country which is presumably where fhe previous owner lived and I have no idea how to change it.
