Why would someone buy a secret phone or device without telling their partner..? If you've nothing to hide then you'd show your partner, no?

Most likely for cheating, but could be something else nasty he doesn't want you to know about. Either way it's not good.

Hmm, he's already got a perfectly good phone albeit a dumb one, maybe he just wants a smart one for a change.

Nearly everyone has a smartphone these days. Why was he persisting with a dumbphone in the first place?

He always said he hated smartphones and touch screens. I think he's also changed or added another email account. I didn't get a smartphone until 2020 as I also didn't like them for a long time.
