OMDB - i don't bother with her really. i'm civil like she suggested but that's it. however i don't want to stop her being a godmother to ds. it's amazing that given such the close friendship we had I don't really miss the friendship. It probably helps that i have another group of close friends (who I regret that I sort of sidelined for a year for the other group but they've stuck by me now when it matters). I think had i suddenly been left with no friends it would have hit me hard.

nappyaddict you sound like me, I can't stand girls who get wound up over the stupidest things. I' only 20 and hate it when I go out wwith crtain friends as all they do is bitch about men, or slag people off.

you are the normal one, they had sex once, shes obviously holding on to some wierd flame, you gave him a peck onthe cheek and she gets all emotional.

Tommy · 24/05/2008 10:10

err..... because she's been friends with her for a long time and she's her DS's godmother?

nappyaddict · 24/05/2008 10:10

PP it was a peck on the lips. cos that makes all the difference dontcha know

I'm glad I'm 40 and not 2 anymore - all sounds very childish to me - I'm off

nappyaddict · 24/05/2008 10:15

it is childish i agree. oddly enough they are all almost 2 years older than me. i'm supposed to be the childish one!!

haha she sounds ridiculous, an absolute child!

If you haven't missed her efriendship i would seriously move on. Don't wait for her to grow up, you could be there a very long time

Tonightsthenight · 24/05/2008 10:18

What's really funny about this is that I was expecting this story to be about you sleeping with someone she fancied. Sorry, isn't it the other way round? She slept with someone she knew you liked? I would have though your little coven group of friends would have seen you as the aggrieved party if they were going to take sides.

Get away fron them as fast as you can. It's sad she was your best friend and is your DH's godmother but you have better influences in your and his life. Don't drag it out, use it as an opportunity to move on.

nappyaddict · 24/05/2008 10:31

Oh she didn't know I fancied him. I think that was only the 3rd time I met him, so I didn't fancy him fancy him - I had just made an observation in my head that i was attracted to him.

Right. Still, she's being ridiculous.

I wouldn't bother with a card or a present - they'll probably just pick holes in whatever you get.
