Husband not helping

Helpme678 · 25/06/2025 02:02

We live in a neighborhood with a bunch of Eastern Europeans hackers. Didn’t know this when we moved here. My husband is extremely lax about security. Leaves doors unlocked etc. someone was in our house and he went on a 9 day trip to India. He just thinks that I’m crazy and nothing is being hacked or taken when I’ve had electronics come up missing. He doesn’t let me report to police and said will blame me if money is taken. Today his iPad was restarting and someone had clearly been in our house and an iPhone was tampered with. What would you do. He refuses dog and security system

I would install a cctv camera. Catch whomever, whatever is messing with your stuff. Then show your DH.

PatheticDistraction · 25/06/2025 04:51

I don't understand...people are breaking into your home to tamper with your electrics? I know I'm missing something, but why are they doing this? And how are they gaining access?

PatheticDistraction · 25/06/2025 04:52

Sorry - just re-read and see doors re left unlocked. But why are these people not simply stealing items, why bother just tampering with them?

Zanatdy · 25/06/2025 05:01

iPad’s restart if there’s an update. Mine did the other day. Why would someone come into your home and restart an iPad? It sounds like you’re suffering with paranoia. Though your partner needs to be locking up the house securely.

Allthegoodonesareg0ne · 25/06/2025 07:24

Explain to dh that you feel unsafe and ask him to ensure the house is secure to make you feel safer. You can install ring cameras easily to make you feel more comfortable.

With kindness, I'd also really suggest discussing your anxieties about this with your gp.

Sofiewoo · 25/06/2025 07:26

How do you know someone was in your house? Because an iPad restarted?

Why would someone break into your home to hack you?

This all sounds quite unlikely

YodasHairyButt · 25/06/2025 07:29

You sound very anxious and the what you’re describing does seem very unlikely. Kindly, perhaps you could talk to someone about how you’re feeling? GP maybe? You obviously feel vulnerable, hope you’re ok x

You think that Eastern European hackers are breaking into your home and hacking your electricals and your evidence is that an iPad restarted….?
