Does child maintenance change if one child doesn’t stay with their other parent?

Hi,

2 kids - both spend about 20% of their time with their other parent and he pays child maintenance as per the CMS guidelines.

One kid has decided they don’t want to go and stay with their dad anymore, while the other one will stay as per the regular schedule.

Will the payments be changed as he won’t be having both kids for the same time? Will the payments for the child who no longer goes be more as I will have them all the time?

thanks

In theory yes, the child maintenance is calculated on how much time each child stays with the nrp

They’ll change. Check the online calculator
