Went to a local pub yesterday and recognised the lady behind the bar from the last time I went. I’ve only been once before and it was several months ago (live in a suburb of a big city) and remember really liking the lady - thought she was very smiley and twinkly, pretty and had a nice energy, for want of a better phrase. I remarked to the people I was with at the time that she seemed lovely.
fast forward to yesterday and she was there again - I recognised her but almost felt a bit shy. I ended up being served by her again. We made eye contact and had a little laugh then out of the blue she asked if she knew me from somewhere as she really recognised me. I replied that I’d been to the pub a few weeks before and recognised her from then.
She then said that I was obviously a very memorable person and had a really lovely energy about me and I said the same back to her. I was secretly happy she’d recognised me and she then got a bit nervous and made a joke about how she’d messed everything up on the till. She asked if I’d been up to much that day and commented that it was so hot outside she couldn’t wait to get out of her clothes. It felt a bit playful and flirty, and quite intense.
It’s strange as I never normally feel this way but it felt like there was a really strong connection between us, almost a flirty vibe? I’m not sure if I’m reading far too much into things though.
for context, we seemed to be about the same age (late 20s/ early 30s) and I’m recently single from a relationship with a man.
am I overthinking and could I get to know her a little better - as a friend even?
