How do you know if someone’s into you vs. they’re just being friendly?

The last two weeks, one of my colleagues has been checking in with me, trying to make me laugh when I’m stressed, seeking me out to sit with for meals and to talk after work hours… we’ve had really great conversations. At one point he reached out and pulled the plastic remnant of a tag off my work uniform belt. He went to get coffee today and bought me one, which was very thoughtful of him.

I thought we might be into each other, but idk if he’s just being friendly and supportive, or if it’s deeper than that. How do you tell?

I don’t think he could make it more obvious that he’s into you.

I hope this is the news you wanted to hear!

Zanatdy · 13/06/2025 05:48

certainly sounds like he is yes.

I don't think men voluntarily spend time with women they're not interested in. Is this good news?

Bittenonce · 13/06/2025 07:39

Men are usually bad at ‘just being friends’ with single women. Depending on how you feel about him, either jump right in or back right off!

@healthybychristmas @Joe7t8 I can’t lie, I’d be pleased if he is into me, but it certainly makes things more complicated!

Why? Are you getting married in a week?

Seaoftroubles · 13/06/2025 15:44

He's into you, no doubt about it. Why is it complicated? .

Cooktop64 · 13/06/2025 16:44

@Seaoftroubles @ImagineHarder I try very hard not to date people I work with

DeepRubySwan · 14/06/2025 05:04

He's into you! What do you need a written invitation?!

We are texting now. Earlier today, as I was getting ready to leave from our work trip, he kept joking that I had to stay for one reason or another, and then that I should come back because it’s “boring there” now… it’s like this funny little dance, where I think we both know it, but we can’t acknowledge it directly
