Just reading Julys Psychologies magazine and there’s a small snippet in it about how some high street banks have a safe space you can access with a computer, phone and links to support networks in case it’s not safe to contact folks at home or from your own devices.

think it’s a fantastic idea and resource for anyone experiencing any form of domestic abuse.

the article says “High street banks have been helping customers escape domestic abuse with a special initiative across 1,849 branches.

Victims can ask to use a Safe Space, advertised in the window, which has a computer, phone and contacts for support services.

TSB even offer a £500 'flee fund' and staff are given safeguarding training.

A total of 241 women used the scheme, created with charity Hestia, between April and December last year.”

I’m just wanted to list it here as a resource for women who are ready to take the next steps but need a safe space to start the process.

if you don’t have one close by, try getting into your gps or explaining to the reception team and maybe they will help? One of my friends used to make excuses about having to go to discuss period issues and he wasn’t interested in attending appointments with her, the reception team and GP helped her get support from the police and plan things out over a month. She used there phone and they also made calls on her behalf as it wasn’t safe to use her phone as he often checked it.

can we list other ideas for folks beyond ringing women’s aid? Different counties resources perhaps?
