How do I leave on maternity leave

ByFastAzureLeader · 06/06/2025 09:34

I can't afford to go anywhere else and I don't really want to take bubba away from the only home they've known but I'm on maternity leave and have no money coming in.

There are no short term rentals near us and husband has no local family or friends to go to.

Ideas?

Probably by going back to work so you’ve got some income and baby goes to nursery.

You should also check what benefits you are entitled to, and you could have a look at how much child maintenance you’d get too. However, be aware that dad might go for 50/50.

How long are you still on maternity leave?
Can you hold on until then?

Is he emotionally abusing you? Have you thought about contacting your health visitor ? I am so you are going through this

Ask your health visitor for help. Your baby won’t be bothered by leaving the only home they have ever known, they are very adaptable. Do you have any friends or family you could stay with?

Havent seen a HV in ages. Set a meeting with my manager to talk through the options.

Emotional abuse possibly not but there's control and manipulation. Starting to see patterns of coercion
