Friendship Cliques at work

Hey.

So I have a second job at a bar.
We are a close team who socialise in the bar too.

I will keep this short. There is a friendship clique that involves 4 staff members. I get on very well with them all but am a background friend. Can be lonely sometimes but I have a good time when we do socialise.

Anyway, I was invited back to the bar by the owner. He called me over into their circle to say everyone in the circle is invited over. One of the group(who i find quite smug) then proceeded to look at me, and the bar owner. Then the bar owner said everyone in this circle.
So the smug one then said "oh yes because Alison (me) is so integral to the group.

I didnt go. I felt too uncomfortable after that. I dont know how to feel about it or if im overreacting.

The smug guy has made me feel lile this before

Im thinking of quitting the job.

Oh no don't quit!! He is a git, stuff him! That reveals so much more about him than you. Don't let him get you down.

Unfortunately there are smug mean people here and there, rise above and enjoy your life.
