Waitress only acknowledges DP

would you be annoyed by a waitress at your local pub, only seeming to acknowledge your DP when greeting ? We both attend the pub a similar amount to each other I go every other Wednesday, he goes once a week after work for a pint. We both take our children together every sort of 5/6 for a meal there as well.

I've had this happen before but only during the time we were there having a meal. The waitress never looked at me or engaged with me, only my partner. Did annoy me.

It’s very annoying!

What happens when you go in without him on Wednesdays?

CarrieLite · 18/05/2025 15:16

Ha, my next door but one neighbour does this. I just completely ignore her all the time now.

I deal with incidents like this by getting right up in their grill with a ricktus grin and saying hi! in a very jolly tone - forcing them to acknowledge me.

Just get a bit of smile and serves if she’s on the bar, she’s a lot younger than us we’re 36 she’s around 24/5 ish.

Maybe she fancies him. Maybe she doesn’t like you. Maybe she’s conditioned to smile and appease men above women because we live in a shitty patriarchal society and she wants the approval of men.

Apressheate · 18/05/2025 16:02

Maybe she thinks he’s more likely to tip than you.

category12 · 18/05/2025 16:20

Maybe he chats with her when he's in for a pint and she knows & likes him better.

It's not an issue if she does fancy him, if you can trust your partner.
