Am I legally meant to be sent a respondents response to my original statement in a court case?

Hi,

Just that really, need some advice I feel the courts have done me dirty with my court hearing that was yesterday, I did not receive the respondents response statement and evidence to yesterdays hearing. Nor do I still have what he said and what evidence he used against me.

If I am honest the whole thing was a complete shambles because myself and my solicitors did not even get sent the paper work to say that there was a hearing yesterday and we had to scramble to actually attend this hearing yesterday because the courts fucked up and never sent any of the paper work over that was actually sorted out last Thursday. I almost missed my hearing if I hadn’t of rang the courts yesterday morning.

Surely this is negligence on behalf of the courts?

What did your solicitor say? Are they protesting about this?

They said there is not much that they can do, they have emailed the courts and the person they spoke to on the phone apologised and that sometimes these things can happen.
