After catching my husband of 27 years cheating on me, I find myself navigating a divorce, a remortgage, conveyancers and solo parenting two autistic children.

I was chatting to my friend last night who is also a single mum amd has been datinf for a while. She said she'd only date men who also had children. He reason was that they have experience of dealing with children amd are understanding. Hadn't considered that but it has got me thinking.
I dont know whether I'll ever date again or trust another man ever again.

Interested in people's views on this though.
So single mums, do you only date dads? Men without children? Or doesn't it matter?

I’m not a single parent but have friends who are and I can really see the pros & cons to both sides.

Dating men with children yes potentially means they are going to be understanding of what being a parent means and the consequences of that BUT it also does mean that instead of just having to juggle one person’s childcare schedule you have two to juggle. My friend had this issue with a man she was dating awhile ago, she has her child Mon-Fri, this man had his kids 1 night midweek & every weekend Fri-Sun, there was literally never a day where they had the same free time so building any kind of relationship just wasn’t possible.

It think it depends on the age of the children. I used to work with someone who remarried in her 50s to a child-free man, but her children were already tweens/teens so not so dependent.
