Any thoughts on someone who smokes weed (and also happy to drive). Am I being too judgemental?

Driving while high- you have to ask?.

Taking drugs can be fine (needs to be controlled and done as part of an otherwise healthy and varied lifestyle)

Driving after taking any drugs is definitely not fine.

When someone does something wrong it is fine to be judgemental.

ItsOoooon · 03/05/2025 08:17

Fucking sad sacks who need to grow up (my opinion on weed smokers).

driving whilst high? Dangerous twats who should be reported.

KellyJonesLeatherTrousers · 03/05/2025 08:19

Immediate 12 month driving ban if caught so very irresponsible not to mention dangerous for other people.

SallyWD · 03/05/2025 08:44

Obviously driving when high is dangerous and unacceptable. Regarding being in a relationship with a weed smoker - if someone did it occasionally then fine. If someone did it daily then no way. I say this from experience.

Coffeeishot · 03/05/2025 08:46

Stoners are selfish dull and actively harming their mental health, I'd stay clear.

WakingUpToReality · 03/05/2025 08:50

So he’s breaking the law on driving while under the influence? Is he breaking any other laws? Is he dangerously inconsiderate of others in other ways?

category12 · 03/05/2025 08:54

Boring yet dangerous.

Not really a combination I'd want in my life.

TwistedWonder · 03/05/2025 08:54

Driving stoned is no different to driving pissed - both are people to avoid

Wolfiefan · 03/05/2025 08:55

You’ve posted in relationships. If this is a partner you need higher standards.

BlondiePortz · 03/05/2025 08:59

Thr ones I know, not friends and thankfully not relatives, can barely string 2 words let alone sentences together

If they want kill their own brain cells do so away from the car, and before anyone whines about alcoholics they are no different

yeesh · 03/05/2025 09:01

🤮

Lianne51 · 03/05/2025 09:07

Not a partner, but I should have posted in AIBU

Agree

mindutopia · 03/05/2025 16:02

It’s a bit pathetic, but that said, I don’t know a single adult who hasn’t had a couple drinks and some point and still driven home. It’s the same. Me personally, I don’t drink, but I wouldn’t judge people differently, it’s a bit stupid either way.

That said, I know someone who is a bit of a stoner. Went to run a race recently, was in pain in the middle so started on some edibles, got too high to even finish the race, and then wrote off his car on the way home. Stupid. Why put so much effort into training for a race and doing healthy things and then do so many drugs that you can even run on race day (plus nearly kill yourself and others)? Just dumb.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 03/05/2025 16:06

Weed smokers = people with zero morality and happy to financially support the exploration of children and fund organised crime..

Drug drivers = the above but also dangerous scum who think the law doesnt apply to them. Weed stays in the system far longer than users think it does.

MsNevermore · 03/05/2025 16:06

I live in a place where weed is legal. It can be purchased from legit dispensaries in all its forms - I really don’t get my knickers in a twist about people using it, and I’m partial to the odd low-dose edible if I need a little help sleeping 🤷🏻‍♀️
But driving while under the influence of it is still illegal and I would judge massively if I knew someone was doing it. It’s not different to drink driving.

flyoverstate · 03/05/2025 16:11

I also live somewhere where it is legal and I can buy hemp seltzers from my local alcohol stores. I wouldn’t drive after drinking those anymore than I’d drive after drinking alcohol. Even though they are quite micro dosed. Drunk or buzzed driving are both dangerous.

I've seen what weed does to young and brilliant people, so I assume it's even worse for the normies.

WayneEyre · 03/05/2025 16:18

Not for me, boring and I don't like any smokers

JohnofWessex · 03/05/2025 16:29

So unless they grow their own they are funding damaging criminal activity.

Thats before you get the potential impact of drug driving.

DoubleDoubleDown · 03/05/2025 17:09

I consume weed most days (edibles mostly). I wouldn't drive in the same way I wouldn't drive if I'd been drinking.

JohnAmendAll · 03/05/2025 22:13

Most weed smokers are tiresome bores IME.
