Trust

A couple years before me and my husband got married. I found him in a dating site since then I can admit that my trust has been broken, but I’ve really been trying to work on trusting him but no matter what I do it seems like he takes it the wrong way he is always blaming me or saying that I’m trying to get in his business that I’m accusing of things, but I think the things that I do or normal like today he was sitting on the bed on his phone I come over and sit beside him immediately he quit texting and told me to not be looking over his shoulder. My question is who wouldn’t think something was up by him acting that way. ?

Am I being unreasonable?

He should have been the one working on gaining your trust, surely?

Wholikesbakedalaska · 27/04/2025 23:53

He doesn't sound trustworthy at all OP.

The fact he is so secretive and is at great pains to hide what he's up to and accuses you of prying would really suggest he's up to no good.

Especially since he has cheated on you at least once before.

GarlicSmile · 27/04/2025 23:54

You know he 'cheated' before you married, now he's secretive and blows a fuse when you show an interest in his personal activities. Yes, this would badly undermine my confidence in the relationship and I wouldn't feel I could rationally trust him.

After the dating site what did he do to regain your trust?

GreyCarpet · 28/04/2025 07:33

Well you were probably a bit daft for marrying a man you found on dating websites, tbh.

That's not a friendship where the boundaries become blurred or a difference in boundaries. That's an active choice and decisiive intention to look elsewhere.

Of course you don't trust him - he's untrustworthy.

Dery · 28/04/2025 07:35

Sounds like your H is untrustworthy, OP. As a PP said, it should be him fighting to recover your trust not you fighting to trust him again. This doesn’t sound like it’s going to work.

How did he explain being on a dating site and why are you trying hard to trust him when he should be doing everything to prove to you that he is trustworthy?
