No for me

No, my DH is kind, generous, thoughtful, communicative, pulls his weight, always puts me and DS first, I could go on and on….

There is not a shred of anything in my DH that reminds me of my dad. He’s the exact opposite and our relationship is the polar opposite to my parents relationship.

Springhassprungxx · 24/04/2025 18:04

No alrhough my mum said my ex was too like my dad. My dh is nothing like him!

VeryQuaintIrene · 24/04/2025 18:09

in the past, yes. I have more sense now.

wonderingwhatsnext · 24/04/2025 18:15

Definitely not.

Littletreefrog · 24/04/2025 18:15

Absolutely not. But I suppose if you have a good relationship with your parents and respect them as people then maybe finding someone similar would be a draw.

FiletMignon · 24/04/2025 18:17

Absolutely not! I met my dh when we were 17, and we have been a couple since we were 20 and the primary attraction was that he was (and remains) the polar opposite of my mum and my dad

Jshrbt · 24/04/2025 18:18

No but maybe it should have been

SallyWD · 24/04/2025 18:21

I adore my parents but DH is very different to both of them.
