How do I get over my work crush?

I started a job 12 months ago & a male work colleague who usually work from home introduced himself. A few months later I saw him on a works do & he kept staring at me & ended up putting his arm around me, as we crossed the road, even though I had only met him once in work.

Within weeks of this, when he came into work he would greet me with a big grin, give me an eyebrow raise etc, His body language mimicked my exes when they were interested, & he would speak & have banter with other female colleagues except me.

Not longer after that, he came & asked me for advice about dogs as it’s the industry I used to work in, But since then he has kept his distance. At the beginning I did send him a friend request & he immediately accepted & he does give a thumbs up to some of my posts. Just as he went quiet on me I sent him a messenger message asking him if I could ask him something (asking if he was interested) as soon as he replied I made my excuses & bottled it. I replied that I had got my answer to my question & he replied back saying ok, with a grinning emoji.

There is another work do & he’s going & I was going to go, but a work colleagues daughter say that they are both like (finger crossed) get on really well. This has caused me to bottle out of the work do.

Im autistic so my emotions are intense. Why does he not have banter with me but when i see him he stares with a big grin.

Sorry for the long post, but any advice would be great to get over him as I feel I got it all wrong & feel I don’t stand a chance.

Sounds like he's probably started seeing someone else I'm afraid.
