Dating - is it better to cancel a date or go knowing you’re not interested?

I went on a first date (from Hinge) just over a week ago. It was just a quick coffee date - he’s a nice guy and we got on but I wasn’t sure if he was for me.

I said I was keen for a second date, just to see how it would go although I was expecting to feel the same. Date was meant to be on Friday but I was loaded with the cold so we have loosely re-arranged to this coming Wednesday.

But the thing is now I have totally decided he isn’t for me - is it better to cancel last minute-ish or go on the date knowing I’m not interested? I’m leaning towards just cancelling it tbh.

He works at my gym so I obv don’t want to leave things awkward 😂

Just be honest with him and cancel the date.

Cancel. Why waste both of your time on a pointless date?

Cancel.

Could end up more awkward if you go and he’s interested in another date but you aren’t!

Cancel. But do it now so you have given him 48 hours notice. That's completely fair.

Thank you - you are all right, of course. I’ll start drafting my message now.
