Friends forgot birthday present

We do a birthday gift where we all chip in money and give each person a present. It’s normally done like a month in advance and given to the person as close as possible to their birthday

I asked about birthday gifts this year and they had forgotten mines. It’s next week and we are together at the weekend so a few days before it.

I don’t know how I feel about this and what to do with it

Did you remind them of your birthday and do they now definitely know it's coming up? If so, presumably they have time to arrange something for this weekend. I wouldn't worry too much at this point. How long have you all known each other?

They still have time to sort something. I'm terrible at remembering birthdays for friends, and usually very last minute with cards and gifts, just because of life! I wouldn't get upset about it. Or is it a big birthday? Could they be arranging a huge surprise thing and so pretending to have forgotten to throw you off the scent?

You really shouldn't ask about your own present, it's poor etiquette. It's up to other people whether they decide to buy you a gift, not your right to demand to know if you've got one.

What exactly did you say to them?

How do you know they’ve forgotten? Surely the collection is done without your knowledge? I’m confused as to why you’d expect to know that there’s a collection taking place?
