OLD (online dating) - when you have the pleasure of using an OLD app, how often would you say you swipe right (as in like)?

I’m starting to think I’m abnormal. I barely swipe anyone right. Most I find utterly unattractive. I’m mid 40s and have set my dating to pool to a similar age.

Is it a total waste of time?

Not on currently but that was always what I found too. Also presume you’re female as men seem to just swipe left regardless and play the numbers game. Try to expand your age range a little more?

I’m not on OLD at the moment but I’d say I swipe left on maybe 1 or 2 a day.

Im in my 50’s and the pickings out there are very very slim.

My age range was set at 50-62 and up to 30 miles

I just CBA with it. Cheesy messages from people I would never be interested in, married men, couples looking for a +1 , ONS…it’s just pointless.

OLD is pointless. Really.

I did it the other way thb. I paid for a week of seeing my Tinder likes then I would peruse them and choose one or two to try to actually connect with. I'd go for those with similar interests and music taste to me so we had things in common. Then made an effort with the conversation from the get go. I've actually met some nice men that way and when you meet them in the flesh they can be more attractive than their photos suggest.

Swiping right less often as you get older is simply your human biology telling you that the dating/relationships phase of your life is coming to an end. Time now to invest in your friends/family, health and mental wellbeing being. You need to invest your time more wisely now that you're older.

Bollocks. You can date and have romance at any age.

Totally agree! I’m not resigning myself to perpetual singledom. I feel (and look) better than I probably ever have and the same goes for knowing myself.
