Exes mail still coming to mine

we split 6months ago he left as he met a younger girl but he was an awful abusive man so did me and our ds a favour !anyway his mail is still coming to mine the first month I was giving him it then after some nastiness from him and me telling him to update his address and him not , iv been returning to sender , now finally places have been asking him To update his address etc but apparently I'm 'a rat ' as iv returned his mail because he doesn't live at my address anymore and I should receive his mail in his eyes ! he also refuses to return my garage keys and left his poor dog with me , the only contact he needs to me is if it's regarding our ds , it's so frustrating as I'm getting on with my life now yet it's as if he's still trying to keep other ties I do not understand why he doesnt just get his mail sent to his new gfs address! Or just return my garage keys 🤦‍♀️

First, change the lock on the garage door ..tell him your going to keep returning his mail to sender till he changes address ..let him call you names, do your best to ignore it ..it'll sink in eventually that he has to grow up and own his own post box

He's keeping ties cos he's not ready to let you move on

Abusive men like to try to continue their abuse and control even after a split.

Just ignore him and keep RTSing the post. And you're probably best off getting the garage lock changed.

He's just on a power trip.

Don't be too surprised if once all has settled down and you're resigned to having the dog forever, he suddenly demands it back.

Change the garage locks and demand he puts the dog chip in your name

If it's not chipped see if you can rehome it

Just change the lock on the garage door. Do you own your home?

Change the garage lock and tell him he has 3 days to pick up the dog or you’re having it rehomed. I assume you’re also paying for its food and vet bills?

If he has left any crap in the garage tell him he has 3 days to pick that up too.
