What can of communication do you prefer when dating

I’m getting to know someone at the moment and he doesn’t seem to be into communicating much on WhatsApp and prefers to call me on the phone.

He thinks calls are better and that we can hear each others voices and connect more etc. I do agree with this but I’m so used to WhatsApp contact for potential men and less calls, if any. I don’t hear that much inbetween other than calls (a call every day/other day) and he shares some memes too inbetween. On the calls we talk about what we have been up to and all very nice.

He has a very busy job so it feels like maybe he hasn’t got time to be messaging back and forth? I enjoy the calls and always stop talking to him feeling connected but there’s something about keeping in touch via WhatsApp too that I miss. Am I being too needy and should I be grateful for receiving calls?

Each person has their preference.

I also have a busy job and there is no way I'd be messaging back and forth all day. I can do an early call, a lunchtime call and a call on my way home.

How do you have time for messaging during the day? Aren't you working?

I am working yes but I meant like a quick good morning or how’s it going at some point when he has a break etc - keeping the connection going

Does he reply if you message good morning?

I can't be doing with the incessant texting, so those wouldn't be for me - bores me stiff.
I like to talk to people.

What does keeping in touch via WhatsApp look like to you at this stage? How much texting does that involve?

I prefer WhatsApp generally with the odd call. I’m not a great talker on the phone, prefer face to face conversation so messages are easier,

I don’t do FaceTime ever. Its the worst form of communication imo

I suppose just general chit chat about things - sharing some photos of their day maybe
