Are there many on here who when they left their marriage, or were left, or mutually separated, they felt hopeful they’d find someone they were better suited to, and now years later are still alone?

Six now… and with each passing year the hope lessens a bit more!

Kids are teens so one day I’ll get more time to socialise, can’t bear the apps…. So it’s difficult and rare that I even meet or have a conversation with a man.

I was hopeful to start with. It's been 5 years now and I'm mid 50s. I have two teenagers so cant just be brave and get out and do something because I'm always carting them about ( happily I might add). All my friends are married and only socialise with other couples. I only see friends either at the gym or for a run. I don't meet any men. I think this might be it 😞

Umm if you rarely have a conversation with a man then chances of meeting someone new are fairly slim. Either put yourself out there (unfortunately this does likely mean using the apps) or focus on yourself and creating your own dream life for yourself.

Yeah I hear you @ilovemyhamster feels challenging at this stage of life!

@icelolly12 fair point! I’ve had some bad experiences on the apps (like most women!) so finding it difficult to get up the courage to do battle with the crappy guys to get to a good one if I’m honest.
