Would you be peed off at this or..?
Went for a family meal, I had 2 wines (not a drinker)
I dosed off in the car home, oh was driving. He told dad to video me & take photo & set photo as our what’s app group profile.

I would laugh about it.

JudgeBread · 15/02/2025 17:49

I mean it's fairly juvenile but I don't really think I'd be pissed off beyond an eye roll.

SweetBabyCheesus · 15/02/2025 17:50

Oh it's just a piss-take, isn't it? They don't mean any harm.

Snowmanscarf · 15/02/2025 17:51

I’d be annoyed, but it’s the sort of thing that would happen in my family. However, the photo would stay within the family, and not be broadcast to a wider audience

rwalker · 15/02/2025 17:52

It’d be a non issue for me

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 15/02/2025 17:54

No, but he has created precedent for you to replace it with an equally awkward picture of him.

(It would appear that I'm in that juvenile class...)

Nothitrockbottomyet · 15/02/2025 18:09

I'd be absolutely furious.
A real invasion of privacy.
Is this this the first time videoing you when you are sleeping / unawares or has he got other footage of you that you haven't seen ?

HawkersNorth · 15/02/2025 18:31

Totally non issue for me, we'd be joking about it.

QuirkyCoralTraybake · 15/02/2025 18:32

Yep invasion of privacy I think

It's OP's daughter, she corrected the first post which said 'dad'.

Yes it was her DD who did the videoing
but it was OP's DH who told her to do it.

The idea came from him.

So perhaps he has videod OP secretly himself previously , otherwise why think about doing it on this occasion?

TwistedWonder · 15/02/2025 18:54

I’d be really pissed off but then anyone k was in a relationship with would know in advance how I’d feel so if they did it, it would be crossing a boundary.

Its pretty immature tbh

GreyCarpet · 15/02/2025 19:11

So the WhatsApp group for just you, your partner and your daughter? That no one else would see? Other than the people in the car?

Surely that's just a bit of a joke intended to make you laugh when you saw it?

I can't see what there is to be upset about.

2025willbemytime · 15/02/2025 19:13

As long as they remove it I'd let it go but tell them not to do it again. If they won't remove and delete from the phone there is going to be an issue.

NovemberMorn · 15/02/2025 19:15

Depends how I looked.
Mouth open with spittle...very pissed off.
Sleeping beauty doppelganger, not pissed off at all.

Chillibeds · 15/02/2025 20:06

Yes i would be peed off.
My husband isn't a twat though and would know better.

Mumworried1 · 20/02/2025 17:04

No I wasn’t looking like sleeping beauty it was a gross pic and also her he’s done this thing before videoing me when I’m stressed out, never takes nice pictures though either

OP posts:
Alalalala · 20/02/2025 17:09

It’s really shitty, bullying behaviour.

Chamomileteaplease · 20/02/2025 17:15

On MN people normally say unless everyone is laughing then it's not a joke.

I agree with a PP - sounds like shitty, bullying behaviour. And horrible that he is encouraging your daughter to join in.

Who would see this photo?
It sounds like he doesn't like you very much - does that sound right?

Then it's disrespectful and mean.

Chillibeds · 20/02/2025 17:35

Nasty behaviour, meant to make you feel bad.

My friends daughter was going out with a guy only a few weeks when he started doing this and kept saying it was "banter"...her mother explained to her that it really wasn't and to listen to her gut.

She planned on dumping him after her friends 25th birthday that weekend. Anyway he got rat assed at the party and was a bit of a twat.
She got him home and he threw up all over the place.

She took a couple of photos of the condition of him and the mess he made.

She stayed til his flatmate came home and handed him over to him.
Vomit everywhere which she needless to say didn't touch.
Flatmate was disgusted.
She sent the photos to him with the word with the word "Dumped" underneath.

His flatmate saw them on his phone, forwarded them on as he was so pissed off with the mess.

I can tell you he didn't think it was "Bantz" when on the other side of it.
He tried to blame her and she told him to fxxk himself and blocked him. His flatmate did it, not her....not her problem.

She was delighted that his flatmate did it.
Served him right.
