Ex husband - separated for two years. Minimal contact surrounding children only. Abusive with infidelity but the eternal victim. Manipulated everyone and continues to. I always have to bite my tongue. Last year I received a red emblazoned letter with Vehicle Safety Recall on it and his name - I immediately passed the letter on thinking it was serious and potentially dangerous. His car was still registered to the home address.
Today I took my car to the dealer as an engine light was flashing. The dealer was aghast - this car should have been in with me last year - it is dangerous to drive due to a fire risk and has a safety recall to repair. The letter had been for my car (my car is registered in his name) and my ex husband hadn’t told me! Why?! My first thought was for his and my children’s safety!

Why don't you get the vehicles properly registered.
Yours in your name and his at his address.
I think you have to take some responsibility for this.
Is the insurance valid if the wrong details are registered?
I think it's a reminder to make sure all documents are accurate and updated.
All the best.

Sorry OP but I agree with the previous poster that you need to take some responsibility for this too. Time to get both cars properly registered to the correct owner at the correct address.

You are an adult it needs to be in your name so you have to own that bit

I don’t think this sounds abusive. Sorry op, it sounds like you need to move on and sort out your own admin going forward
