My DS is terrified of older children

He is only 6 and he literally cries if there are older children to play with
in a football setting or something..

Can anyone advise?

Didn't want to leave this unanswered. Can you speak to the school and see what he is like there? Has something happened? How much older are we talking?

I could see why being faced with playing contact sport or football with a group of much older, bigger, more confident kids could seem quite scary. It would to me and I'm an adult! I think I'd probably cry too!
What about imaginative play? Can he happily play games, roleplay, use playground equipment, just muck about casually with older kids?
If so then maybe he got hurt by a bigger kid during sport (hopefully by accident) so that's the reason for his fear.
You should ask him what he's scared about? And if something happened.

No he literally turns and goes the other way when older kids approach to play.. he looks scared.. I don't know why..?

To my awareness an older kid has not hurt him or anything..? He sometimes says he's scared of grown ups when they tell him off..?

But we don't yell.. his teachers did at one setting and I feel he has really bad memories of this..
