What to do prior to ending a long term relationship

Hi All

I think my long term relationship (25 years) is coming to an end and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on if there is anything I need to do prior to ending it to protect myself/finances from any comeback? Our lives are very entwined obviously as its been so long but we are not married and I own the house and our finances are seperate. We have a teen and adult child.
