Tik tok inbox

Londonboyxxx · 27/01/2025 09:55

Dh sent me a screenshot of his tik tok to show me some company.
Justbon the screenshot i noticed he has 6 friends but 80 messages in his inbox.
What are the inbox messages. Are they messages from people or notifications.
I asked him and he said he didnt know. I dont want to start snoppying on his phone but i am worried.

I get notifications which says inbox but it’s just a notification to say someone has commented

Cheesandcrackers · 27/01/2025 09:58

TikTok is based on creating connections. For example if he commented on a friend's post than it would notify your DH if anyone else liked his comment. This could be 1 person or 80 people. I wouldn't worry about it.

cheekycee · 27/01/2025 09:59

Ask him to click on it and show you. Outcomes would be:

A Minor question of why and he shows you

Or

Defensive and doesn't do it - I would be suspicious of this

I'd ask to put my mind at rest. These days with SM you can never be too sure of people messaging your SO

magicstar1 · 27/01/2025 10:00

It's nothing really. If he commented on a video and someone liked his comment, an alert shows in the inbox. I've always got a lot of inbox notifications

festivemouse · 27/01/2025 10:00

Mine tells me anytime someone has watched a tiktok that I've sent them, anytime someone has replied to a comment and anytime someone has liked a comment.

I've had 100+ before when a comment I've put has been liked lots!

The "inbox" isn't really a true inbox of chats, it's where notifications go.

Kinneddar · 27/01/2025 10:10

I've always got loads of notifications.

None of them are a conversation

Anytime someone interacts with something you've done - liked or replied to a comment you've posted for instance - you get a notification

There's absolutely nothing to worry about however the fact you are suggests some kind of other issue. Don't you trust him?

occultelements · 27/01/2025 17:14

My inbox would suggest I've got loads of messages, but I've never had a single conversation on there. It's all notifications and activity.

If he was hiding something he wouldn't have sent you a screenshot with this on it. The fact that he did would suggest he has nothing to hide.

kids stream on tik tok and lie about their age and they get older people contacting them you need to go on to his tik tok and delete his accounts and delete tik tok off his phone and put parental control on it so he can’t access sites for 18 year olds but get him off tik tok it’s not a safe app it’s full of scammers and it’s full of weird people and it’s got dangerous challenges that could kill him also bullying happens on there guys post topless pics on there asking for all sorts of unwanted attention tell him he is to get rid of tik tok or you will take away his phone and get him a basic phone that he can only make phone calls and text on and he can have it back when he’s 18 so tell him for his own safety to get rid of tik tok or you will take his phone away and look at the messages

@Gambit1977
The op Is asking about her husband, not her child.

No she shouldn't. People have explained how Tik tok notifications work

Gambit1977 · 27/03/2025 05:52

Tik tok is rubbish and adults shouldn’t be on it

Theextraordinaryisintheordinary · 27/03/2025 06:00

It’s a positive. Means he’s getting messages and doesn’t care about them so they’ve built up.

No actually kids shouldn’t be on it. It’s ruining them

Gambit1977 · 27/03/2025 06:45

Exactly they need to ban tik tok all the guys are posting gym pics and all manner of predators are seeing them it’s not safe scammers are on there and kids are not safe boys have killed themseleves thinking they was talking to a girl and then found out it was a guy and got asked for money or they would send their photos everywhere it’s bad there are scammers pretending to be famous people on their I once saw a stream and a girl was having ago at her ex and hounding him cos he dumped her cos she cheated on him and it’s like is this what the world is coming to when social media takes over it’s crazy and not right these kids are vulnerable boy and they need to make it so you can’t use social media until you’re 18 safe guard kids till they are adults that’s what needs to be done but they won’t do it how many kids have to die what happened to taking ya kids out to places Don’t let kids have mobiles till they are 16 not smart phones just basic phones that you text and make calls with but iPhones and androids not till 16
