whatsapp query

hi hope someone can help as whatsapp are being as unhelpful as they possibly can. In my husbands phone on whatsapp under my contact halfway down it shows 'other phone' and then my phone number. This is making him think that i am using whatsapp on more than one device. Can anyone explain why this would show this as i categorically do not use whatsappp on any other device

No idea, but it sounds like he doesn't trust you. Why is he even looking at it?

Well, there are two things here aren’t there.

Firstly in answer to what you’ve asked: it’s probably to do with how he has saved your number in his phone contacts. You can save phone numbers under all sorts of categories like home, mobile and other. So that might explain that.

But, why is your husband scrutinising your WhatsApp contact info in this way? Is he normally paranoid and controlling?

Has whatsapp loaded itself onto your macbook?

He quite rightly has trust issues as i lied to him about some financial matters but i would never be unfaithful to him as he is my everything. its on his phone that it shows this, i just cant explain it and whatsapp are uselss

it showed that way typically whilst he was away from home doesnt show it now apparently

We have this with my DH number. He got a new phone and ported the old number but it keeps showing up wrong on messages. Both numbers show in the contact information. No idea how to resolve it! Have you ever ported your number?

it's probably the way he's got you set up in his contacts. If I go to add a new contact to my directory (i'm on an iphone) then you put the name in and where you add a phone number it defaults to "mobile" but if you click on that you can change it to a number of different things - mobile, home, work, school etc and one of the options is "other".

it is bexause if he is like this one suspects the financial lies could come from his controlling behaviour as well - getting into debt because of financial controls he put into place is far more common than it should be

also the OP is using the lie a stick to beat herself with and placing the blame on herself and saying she almost deserves it bexause of the lies she told. Lies which could very well be used again by him as well as a means of control

My god, you are assuming an awful lot there!

i lied when i should have been honest about money owed. dont really want to go into that but thats what lost his trust which hes alwasy had issues with. i was different until i did this so now lost everything we had built up for 21 years

It's just a WA setting. Good grief. Go into another contact and it'll say the same i bet

I've just looked at 6 contacts in my WA & every single one of them has other phone showing with their phone number in the +44 format

If he checks he'll see the same 🙄

unfortunately 2 of our kids have iphones and it doesnt show on their contact just mine

his is an android dont see other phone on iphones from what i can see

Check how their number is stored

The only person 'other phone' hasn't come up with on my contacts so far is my niece who's number was stored as +44

Just checked my other iPhone using niece and again. - shows up as other phone

How are the numbers saved in his contacts 07 or +44

As others have said he's being ridiculous, I have a work phone and I've checked how that contact shows in my personal WhatsApp and sure enough it says other phones and vice versa

It doesn't mean anything at all

Both phones are android

my son has an android to will check his when home

i think its more the point it showed like it once and now doesnt and that was when he was away. ive got no idea and no answers. sorry i didnt know where to turn for advice so really appreciate you all commenting
