Where do people meet friends when they’re almost 40?

My family sucks (all I can say), and I don’t have my own family. I’m extremely lonely. I tried reconnecting with people from high school and college. Only two got back to me and they’re super busy with their own family.

where to meet friends?

I made friends in a new town when we met whilst walking our dogs.

That was 14 years ago and only my dog is still alive 😔.

I’m still close with two of the people though.

I do too. Problem is it’s usually mothers who talk to me and obviously they’re too busy to make good friends who can be hung out with.

ETA: not complaining about your advice, I actually do enjoy talking to those women. It’s just that I obviously can’t make it a regular thing.
