I'm more classic dresser

He's skinny and pale and ginger

I'm dark and curvy

I'm proud to be seen with him

But everyone looks surprised

He sounds quite a striking gent in his own right. Some of that natural, some of his own choosing. I don't think anyone's making any value judgements about you as a couple. Maybe you are a bit head turning together rather than a matching salt and pepper pot pair, nothing wrong in that.

If you love each other for who you are, thats what people may notice second, but will remember about you when they speak to you.

I love seeing unusual couples as most people go for something quite similar to themselves

I saw him out and I was chatting to another stranger (cyclist so chatting) and he interrupted to make a point (a good point but pretty off the wall).

I was like...who the hell is that guy???? So he made quite an impression.

Afterwards I found out he'd seen me out on my bike a few times (I have quite a distinctive bike and wear a fur coat when I'm cycling). And he had likewise been....who the hell is that girl???

I agree with what others have said - they're not staring because of the way you look as a couple, they're staring at him. He's obviously got a very distinctive look and people can just be really bloody rude sometimes when it comes to gawping/making judgements about anything they consider 'different'.

I think he sounds absolutely great, though!

People are bound to look at something unusual and you can't say he hasn't gone out of his way to look different, but quite a few will be thinking you look great.

People could be looking at you and admiring your sense of fashion or his height or red hair. It sounds as if you would both attract attention as individuals anyway. Don’t worry about it

I find people still stare and have opinions on black and white people dating.

OP, you just gave me a flashback of friends I had in my 20's (I'm 50 now).

My girlfriend was barely 5 foot and her boyfriend was 6 foot 10. He came from an extremely tall family. I'm 5 foot 3 and visiting their house was like going to The Land of the Giants.

They all had custom made beds & other furniture. Dad was 6 foot 9 and Mum was 6 foot 4. When we had coffee and cake, they would reach their long arms out to put their cups/plates back on the coffee table whilst I would have to stand up and walk to it.

In photos, my friend barely came up to her boyfriend's waist, so you can image the jokes about 'easy access" etc. Also we joked about "Omg if you get pregnant with this man, I'm not sure you'll be able to hold in a baby that size".

I really wouldn't worry, about the height or other differences. If your relationship works, then it works. Nothing else matters.
