So long story - I’ll try keep it short! So thank you if you’ve taken the time to read 🫶🏻
the father of my child abused me, physically, mentally and used coercive behaviour against me constantly - there is police involvement but due to him living in another state, it’s been no arrests made since July 2023 - if he steps foot in my city he will be arrested as arrested as he is classed as a high risk suspect - the police here couldn’t get her the ‘evidence’ I had - texts him of him admitting everything, videos of the alterations (my child is seen and heard in the videos and he says thing to her about me) anyways - he’s seen our child 5 times since 2022 - which is awful, the plan was he would come to my state and spent fri-Sunday every month(once a month) we both decided this as it was the best for our child.
he never turned up, he cancelled all the time, he would FaceTime her and cry down the phone making our child not want to speak to him, she became withdrawn and would get upset if I tried to call him for her to speak to him.
last time he seen her, he had no money, didn’t feed her or give her a drink, he also quoted ‘ I don’t like my (girlfriends little boys) so we are giving them up, we only want (girlfriends daughter) myself and my partner with gobsmacked, they also openly admitted they’d had enough and wanted to go as they were gagging for a ‘joint’ 🥲
my daughter went really bad after this, saying he ‘threatened to take her to (his home town) 4 hours away… UK 🇬🇧 and that she was scared he was going to come and take her away from me, she wouldn’t speak to him and told me she never wanted to see him again (she’s 5) so I was trying to keep the contact up even on the phone - anyways he started texting me really nasty and abusive messaged around July 2023 & started to threaten me, and I felt like that ‘scared abused women he made me’ so I contacted the police and reported him, I couldn’t cope with the fear of him abducting our little girl - so I braved my trauma and told them.
also ressilent families for involved and advised I could use my PR right to stop contact, so did the police so I did - and my mother told him as 3rd party!
police told me CPS would take it on with the amount of evidence and that they were going to charge him with 4 counts of assault and coercive behaviour - I felt relieved that they knew the truth… anyways we are now in January 2024 and there’s been no arrests made & he’s gone and contacted mediation!!
will be receiving mediation letters soon, won’t be going and explaining to them why - my solicitor told me back in September 2023 not to go to family courts and wait for him to take me, because it shows he’s not that bothered, my daughters school is involved, ressilent families gave me the go ahead, the police and my councillor, also women’s aid… I’ve literally done everything by the books but I’m still terrified he’ll hurt me if he finds out about the police and what he’ll do :( he may take our little girl, he’s quoted before ‘ if you can’t have her, no one will’ 😪😪
please just tell me I’m doing my best 🥲
just to add - he’s got other kids who he’s lost parental rights too through court!!! 😞

You’re doing everything right, gather up as much evidence as you can. The court will be seeking information from the police and social services and also will consider previous proceedings for either of you.

Do not go to mediation. It’s not appropriate when there’s been abuse.

Than you, I have countless amounts of evidence - police evidence and evidence to prove how many times he’s actually bothered ect.

will not he attending mediation, but just dreading court itself - he intimidated me and made me so scared of the courts as he used to tell me daily that he’d ruin my life and get the courts to drag me away and take my child 😞

I just hope they see straight through him this time, I reallly do…
