Can I move back home

My partner made me and our 3 week old baby leave our home after an argument over something silly that escalated… we are both on the mortgage so when I say made us leave I mean he was so nasty and made it impossible to stay there at a time where I need emotional support and stability the most, so I went to my parents house. I found out that my partner left to his mums the same day, so our home has been empty ever since!! I am sharing a tiny bedroom with our baby which is less than practical and I really want to go back home. I can’t afford risk that he will decide to come back whenever suits him as he is extremely emotionally and verbally abusive. He threatened to take our baby so I involved a solicitor and we have mediation next week.
Has anyone got any advice on how I can move back home safely?

You would need an occupation order since he is also on the mortgage. Speak to women’s aid for advice and support.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. You are doing the right things by staying away from him and contacting a solicitor. Contact Womens Aid for advice too. Hopefully more posters will be able to give you some more practical advice.

You are doing so well and you don’t deserve any of this.

Yes you can move back home. Seems silly its empty. I would get legal advice too re occcupation order. If you move back, you cant change the locks (as hes named on the mortgage too), but there is nothing stopping you double locking the doors/leaving keys in the locks so its difficult to enter
