Leaving emotionally abusive husband but worried he’ll turn son against me

Our 4 year old has an overly strong attachment to his dad which I’ve read can be through witnessing the emotional abuse I’ve been receiving. I’m so scared that once I’ve moved out on the times he has him he’ll turn him against me and try and make it a competition. I know my son will already blame me for splitting because it will be me leaving the family home. How do you explain these things to a young child???

Daddy wasn’t being a good friend to mummy so mummy had to leave but mummy loves you more than anything else in the world and if anybody tells you different then they’re wrong.
