Tinder is out of the question :-).

Am I right in saying you have to now pay for dating apps to see anything worthwhile being on there?

Oh okay.. makes sense I suppose it shows who is actually serious about dating. Tinder I have found to be very sleazy in the past and I heard that is both for men and woman too

I preferred hinge and bumble, not worth upgrading in my experience just use the free version, you get to see anyone in the distance you select you just can't see who swiped you first, not sure that matters because you'll swipe who you like anyway or you can pay to be incognito or to give super likes, not worth it imo, free still gets you seen by everyone.
I did pay for match and found a short term relationship there, a lot less to choose from and still surprising amount of cheating men on there, as it's easier for them to hide in paid for than the free ones, most of them are on the free apps anyway.

I paid for Match for a month and found it a waste of money. The same faces as the free apps and the same level of sleazy creeps.

I’d say Hinge and Bumble the better ones of a bad bunch. If you’re on FB, they have a dating section now which is free.

I would say Hinge, meet a few nice, normal guys on there and also my now-partner four years ago! Three close friends of mine also met their husbands on Hinge 😊
