Dating a guy with tricky past

I am in the early stages of dating someone in the police. They were adopted and exposed to abuse so life’s not been easy . It seems la lot for anyone to deal with but there is a concern about how this may affect dating. They’ve never had a long term relationship or introduced a partner to family . I’m the type to never judge on a past as everyone deserves a chance but not sure if I’d be enough to support them . Any polite advice ?

You’re not a rehab centre for damaged men. You don’t have to date or look after anyone.

Depends on whether they've had therapy and are emotionally available and equipped to deal with the relationship. Someone's past wouldn't put me off but it's how they handle it now that's the main thing. (Speaking from experience)

It's not his past that would worry me, rather him being in the police.

I knew a guy who joined the police after a spell in the Royal Navy.

His wife always said being a Navy wife was easier.

Polite advice?

Dont get involved with a copper. Unless you love power crazed arrogants.

Why would you have 2 threads in the same day on the same subject ?

you have so many replies on your other thread, but you don't seem to have returned to it...

Anyway, as you haven't actually met him you are not in the early stages of dating...

How long have you been ' chatting ' for ?
