Getting really frustrated now so wanted to understand why it keeps happening! I was with my daughters dad for 11 years and we split up just over 4 years ago, I have been with a new partner now for 2 1/2 years and we have just had a baby who is now 3 weeks old. When I was pregnant, I was asleep and woke up in the middle of the night half asleep to ask my partner what the time was and accidentally went to call him my ex’s name. He was fuming and I felt terrible for ages!
last night, our son woke up for a feed in the night and it was my partners turn so I went to say his name but accidentally called him my ex. Again, he was fuming! I apologised multiple times but now he won’t speak to me!
Its only happened twice and it’s always been when I am half asleep, I can only put it down to the fact that I was with him for 11 years and also had a baby with him so out of habit just subconsciously said his name!
how do I fix this? Feel like my partner feels like fully disrespecting him when I don’t even mean too?
