Hiding in the bathroom

There is so much to do for hosting Christmas. I have been working flat out. I'm a primary teacher so this term is always a little crazy. I have all the shopping done, the presents are wrapped but the house is untidy and needs cleaning.
Things could have been done by others in the house yesterday whilst I was at my second job. Instead Dh and the kids curled up to watch a Christmas movie.
Tomorrow I will have to do the Christmas dinner prep as we have 12 people coming. I don't have time to do all the cleaning as well.
DH has just walked in from his last day of work before Christmas and starts nitpicking about lots of things that aren't right. Not much I can do about grouting the bathroom etc now.
The kids have, at least tidied their rooms. I'm hiding in the bathroom whilst they eat the dinner I cooked. I will grab something in a bit.
I couldn't feel less in the Christmas spirit if i tried.

ok so the kids have stepped up, now dh needs to. No way can you be expected to shoulder all the chores with one let alone two jobs!
DH needs to pull his bloody finger out. It’s nice that he spent time with dc with a movie but no e he needs to crack on and help. Tomorrow he gets cold shoulder and tongue if he doesn’t help. And ad infinitum.

Make a list for Santas elves
Delegate each job or get them to chose their jobs
Crack the Christmas music on.
Cleaning supplies on the kitchen table
Pull together as a family to get it done.

Job 1: runs around and collects all the things that dont belong in a room into a box, and delivers them into the room the door belong in when they get to it
Job 2: runs around and dusts all surfaces
Job 3:runs around and does any glass and mirrors
Job 4: Wipes down kitchen and bathroom
Job 5: Hoovers and mops
Etc

Make it fun and light hearted. Maybe get DC involved tonight to right up the list of jobs so they are preprepped they can put together a Spotify playlist now

Yes, it shouldn't have to be upto you, but it is so bringing everyone in, a warning you need help and expect everyone to help is better than doing it alone.
